Toungue Tie - causing the imbalnce and pain your thoughs

a doctor suggested yesterday that tounge Tie caused in the years an imbalnce in my mouth that increased the pain. and suggested to "cut it" . small cyrorgical operation.

heard of that ? your thoughts ? she said it isn't conventional in the dental world and most doctors don't agree with that.

ADDED BY MOD SUPPORT 1-13-2016:

i've been 5 years with those pains. done a lot of treatments and the pain changes it's "character".

question - i'm almost quite sure that imbalnce in all my face causes or make the whole pain situation worse.

the fact that when i lie the pain increases ... or it "jump" from side to side.
it stoppes in one side.. and then strarts in the other side.
so it must be some imbalnace in the neck or something that has slowly progress over the years .

i noticed that when one tooth hurts to "bite" on" i "make delicae force in my jaws to not bite on that side.. all this muscle presserure and trying NOT to close the mouth probobaly causes more muscle pain.

(sorry for my bad english).

what to u think of this theory ?

sorry for not stating all of my pain charateristic and treatment i've done - too echausted.

thanks all

I agree that it isn't conventional. I've never heard of a "Tongue tying" procedure being used in face pain. I'm not even sure I understand what medical issue she is talking about. Get a second opinion from a dental surgeon before you decide.

ankyloglossia is the name of the condition, and it certainly CAN lead to facial pain and imbalance as well as a host of other difficulties. There is a wealth of information on the net about it. Once such resource is

http://tonguetie.net/

More commonly done these days is a laser procedure which allows for less chance of reattachment. HOWEVER whether you can expect a lot improvement is anyones guess. The condition effects facial development which is impossible to reverse. If that facial development is the cause, simply releasing the tongue may not have a lot of effect.. That being said, its a simple enough procedure, there is not much(IMO) to lose and possibly some to gain.
