The Passing of a Giant: Dr Peter Janetta

Literally tens of thousands of facial pain patients owe their present pain-free condition to Dr. Peter Janetta and his neurosurgical students. Peter passed away last Monday after sustaining a head injury in a fall. He was 84. Peace be with this pioneer which I was lucky enough to meet and have treat me. He confirmed my diagnosis and reassured me that I was not crazy. He was honest about the percentage of success I might have with MVD and didn’t treat me like just a number. Although my surgery was not successful, I have the utmost respect and everlasting sense of gratitude to this man.
