Radio Frequency Ablation

Since my mvd surgery in August was unsuccessful, I've been desperate to try any other method available to help with this pain. I had radio frequency ablation done on Tuesday and yesterday and today I have been mostly pain free!! I am extremely happy!!! I had the ablation done in my face with twilight sedation. The doctor said the nerve will regenerate, but it should help for about 3-6 months. I started with type 1 TN, but it changed to type 2. I just wanted to recommend this procedure because I'm sure there are others who could benefit from this.

Honestly, this is the one procedure I would say I come close to regretting having done. Even though it was just for a split 2nd the having to be awake, while the surgeons judged if they had the needle in the right place was jolting. I have a very high tolerance to pain and I screamed. Thing is I am a 16 months out and still pain free from the surgery. I will not have it redone, out of the concern the more the nerve is moved, the greater the risk of AD. It does work! It is just I wish I was a little better prepared mentally for it.
