Pseudoephedrine & Sudafed (Decongestants)

Can decongestants such as Pseudoephedrine & Sudafed help with ATN?

It does not. You most likely have the trigeminal nerve pulsating against a blood vessel and the pain is excruciating. You need to see a neurologist that is a specialist in TN. They can put you on the correct combination of meds that can help you. You need to be on an anticonvulsant drug along with an antidepressant that helps with nerve pain. Every neurologist will tell you they treat TN but you need to research them and find out to what extend they have treated patients with TN. I am fortunate that I finally found one in Dallas that truly did specialize in TN and taught classes to other doctors about TN. I have had two MVD’s and only the combination of the medications I am on has worked for me. Hope this helps.
