im starting to go through the motions with TN… im 24yrs old my meds are not working what is the next step??
You should ask about a spinal cord stimulator. I just had mine placed in July. It has helped with most of my burning.
I feel your pain when I do have bad days I think the same thing. I wonder how can I live the next 40 yrs like this? I am coming to the realization that this a day to day minute by minute thing. Hang in there I know how hard it is.
im trying to hang in there… ihvent ate in over a week ican barely open my mouth. wht is a spinal cord stimulator?
If you nerve was damaged due to your teeth being moved by braces, which happened to my upper front teeth, a nerve stimulator is a option. Thing is, you describe TN1 which is most often caused by a compression. Have you had a TN protocol MRI done yet? If not, start there.
You may be able to up your meds dose or try another med.Sorry you are having such pain.I always ate,but had to go with mash potatoes and corned beef alot. You know, soft stuff.Protein shake smoothies are good to at least get you nourishment.I had Gamma and thank god pain free for now.Good Luck.
I am a psychologist who works with people with chronic pain. I also have it myself and have just recently gotten the TN diagnosis. If possible, try to get to a pain specialist in your area. He/she should be able to help you.
I've had TN since I was 13. It took years to diagnose, and years to figure out treatment. It's a long road, but things will get better soon. Find the best doctors you can and make sure you ask questions and that they are doing the best they can too. Lyrica is the only things thats moderately worked for me after going through about 5 other meds and surgery.
I had doctors say I couldn’t have tn cause I was only 23 at the time. But i’ve had the pain since I was a kid. But its entirely possible if you’ve had invasive dental work that it started your tn pain. Keep trying to get help. I know its frustrating to get diagnosed. It took me 3 yrs to get diagnosed.
It is not just dental issues that can cause TN pain. I have read of a case where a 4year old was diagnosed with TN due to a congenital birth defect. Mine was also caused by a birth defect. The best first step is to have the MRI done. Often compressions will not show up, but it will rule out other causes of your TN.
Hi, I don't have too much to offer, but I did have my MVD procedure this summer at age 26. My quality of life was poor on all the meds I was on. Feelin' good now. Best of luck.
Its electrodes under my skin and a battery in my chest. You need a good pain dr. Everyday is a new one and I feel your pain. I’m 43 and think I’m to young for this.
